BAKER Drivetrain Sturgis Round-Up

Things were great in Sturgis this year! I'd say that not even needing to look at numbers, it was one of our best Sturgis' ever!

We had good sales, installed a lot in the booth. The community center was a great new location, and we'll be staying there in the future.

We did 2-3 installs a day without any trouble - we had pre-scheduled about half of the week. so we urge customers that if they want in at shows we go to, to call us way ahead of time and book their spot... we got lucky and had a few during the middle and end of the week that were open so we could schedule customers on the spot there... and our events went really well! We held the Smoke-Down Showdown two nights during the week at Jay Allen's place and both were really crowded and everyone had a lot of fun!

The products we always sell the most and folks are most interested in are:
The DD6: Direct Drive 6-Speed. It's the most universal transmission we make, and give the best, most noticeable results in efficiency, shift quality and lowered RPM's immediately. It's perfect for touring bikes so it's what we recommend to many of the guys that come in for an install.
Another popular new product is our two reverse kits. We have the F6R and the F5R - for the 5 or 6 speed, respectively. With an increase in women riders, bigger, heavier touring bikes, and the population of riders getting a little older - its exactly right for helping back up a big, cumbersome bike or trike without having to activate any levers by hand near hot exhaust pipes... instead its gear driven and activated through normal shift lever usage. Customers are really clamoring for these.
Finally, our new vintage styled ratchet top 4 speed: it's such a step up from the leaky old gearbox that has been in everyone's bikes for so long: but some guys just didn't want to upgrade to our 6 into 4 - so we did our best to recreate a 4 speed - but with dependable BAKER internals and it makes a big difference! And soon we'll have these out in jockey top as well... Right now, BAKER makes a kicker product for almost every HD on the market... so be it an old Pan, Knuckle, or Shovel - all the way to a more modern day Factory 5-Speed bike, we can make it kick-able!

So that was our experience in Sturgis! It was a really good year! decent weather, numbers of attendees seemed to be up - our new location rocked, and installs were hoppin'!
