That day has come.
On Thursday, Buffalo Chip voters unanimously gave their community the nod to become South Dakota's newest town.
All 43 of them.
In an interview shortly after the vote total was announced, Woodruff said: "The first lesson (in being a town) is that we have to follow a lot more rules we didn't need to follow before."
He said he expects the town to operate just as it did when it was part of unincorporated Meade County. "We'll probably just adopt Meade County ordinances," Woodruff said. "We're not looking to make any changes."
