In its fourth year, Vintage Rally at the National Motorcycle Museum in Anamosa, Iowa is a great event for any vintage motorcycle enthusiast. The June 7 & 8 event marks the Museum's 25th Anniversary, so the celebration will be on. Frank Fritz, of History Channel's American Pickers fame will be on hand to sign his new book and tell a few stories. And you'll be able to get up close and personal with the world traveler with one name, Bean're. He's just back from riding for several months in Southeast Asia and has some stories to tell!
Vintage Rally 2014 is all about old motorcycles and the people who ride them. There's a pre-1989 vintage and antique motorcycle show you can enter, a fun swap meet, panel discussions, a silent auction of memorabilia and more. Hall of Famers Dick Klamfoth, Bobby Hill, Bill Tuman, John Tibben and Mike Wilson will be on hand to tell stories of racing in the glory days, and can sign a poster or two for you as well.
Plan to attend and you can also see the newly expanded Indian Chronicles exhibit. Nearly 40 antique and recent Indians, interpretive history panels to read, and wonderful historic artwork help you understand the interesting story of this recently revived marque.
Year 'round, over 400 motorcycles, scooters and bicycles await your review at the National Motorcycle Museum, plus thousands of pieces of motorcycle artwork, photos and memorabilia. Says Museum President, and founder of J&P Cycles, John Parham, "This museum may be the most dynamic and interesting motorcycle museum in America. From Ariel to Zundapp, we have bikes from the late 19th Century to present, and not just American motorcycles. Some visitors tell us the historic motorcycle photos and artwork alone are worth the visit. Vintage Rally on June 7 & 8 showcases the Museum and we hope you'll attend."
