Dealers Want The Runaround?

Press Release: They Do When It Is Mustang's Lowest, Leanest Seat
August 25, 2014, Three Rivers, MA — Introducing the lowest, leanest seat in Mustang Seats’ legendary line-up for Harley-Davidson Dyna and FL models. The RunAround is an entirely new seat, not an update or upgrade to an existing platform. “Since 1980, we have built our reputation on comfort, but in recent times, customers have been asking for a seat for short hops with a much lower profile,” notes Mustang Marketing Director, Marilyn Simmons. “Rather than dealers getting the run around, we decided to give them the RunAround instead.”

Mustang’s designers have engineered the lowest, leanest seat possible for the 2006-up Harley-Davidson Dynas and 2008-14 FLs. Taking everything they have learned about seat design during the past three decades, incorporating technological advancements in the materials and adding in a state-of-the-art CAD-CAM center, Mustang’s R&D team plotted the RunAround from scratch. Marilyn adds, “Look cool and stay comfy with the RunAround. Our tradition of New England craftsmanship combined with 21st century design means these seats look as incredible as they feel.”
A narrow front width (just 9.5” for the Dyna and 10.5” for the FL) combined with the ultra low profile keeps the rider styling and profiling, according to Marilyn. “It is an entirely new design, not just a modified version of an existing seat,” she explains. “However due to Mustang’s seat pan design and our proprietary foam, you can still enjoy comfort running around town.”
Made in-house at Mustang’s historic Three Rivers, Massachusetts facility, the controlled density polyurethane foam can be poured a little thinner without compromising the feel, making for a much thinner seat pad in the process. “The exact angle and density of each seat foam panel is formulated and cast to be soft enough for comfort, but resilient enough to retain its shape and structural integrity for years.”
After passing Mustang’s own exacting standards, the low-slung seat is now ready for dealers. “We are actually happy to give dealers the RunAround in this case,” she laughs. For more specifics, check out the website:
