WyoTech’s Bike Week Activities include Engine Build-Off & HP Shootout
The 1st Annual Bike Engine Build-Off and the 23rd Annual Brute Horsepower Shootout will be part of the school's events from March 8-17, 2013
The WyoTech campus in Ormond Beach will host a series of events in conjunction with the Daytona Bike Week festivities. According to the Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce, Daytona Bike Week is the “World’s Largest Motorcycle Event”.
Starting on March 12, WyoTech kicks-off the 1st Annual Bike Engine Build-Off. This is a “must-see” battle of the engines where participants will compete to see who can tear down and rebuild an engine in the fastest amount of time.
Contestants from across the country will compete in the Brute Horsepower Shootout from March 12-15 to determine whose bike produces the most horsepower. Qualifying rounds in 13 categories ranging from V-Twins to the Unlimited class are scheduled for 9:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday with the finals on Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sponsored by Snap-On Tools, Royal Purple, Dynojet Research, Nitrous Express, Brock’s Performance, MTC Engineering, E3 Spark Plugs, Sta-Bil Fuel Stabilizer, Black Tip Graphics, 104+ Octane Boost and Deltran Battery Tender. This event always brings out the best in every participant as they compete for prizes and bragging rights.
Beginning Friday, March 8, WyoTech’s custom bike, which was revealed on Discovery Channel’s “American Chopper”, will be on display from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily. Other activities include campus tours, food vendors, dyno runs, demonstrations, and educational seminars from aftermarket industry companies as well as autograph sessions with Top Fuel motorcycle drag racer, Larry ‘Spiderman’ McBride.
