Rapid City, SD (PRWEB) June 8, 2010 --This year marks the 70th annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, and the celebration is expected to spark a surge in both attendees and vendors.
Nearly half a million people are expected to attend Rally Week, flooding Sturgis and the surrounding Black Hills with bikers, tourists, and revelers looking to experience the unique motorcycle rally culture. The intense influx of visitors also brings thousands of vendors to the area, selling everything from rally gear to handmade jewelry to tattoos.
“With so many vendors setting up throughout the Black Hills that week, location is critical,” said Jenneye Sartorius, general manager of Black Hills Vendor Park. “It’s important to remember that most of the people attending the rally don’t actually stay in Sturgis – they find accommodations in other parts of the Hills and spend a lot of time riding through the area. Vendors need to be in a place that’s visible and easily accessible.”
Located just minutes from downtown Rapid City, Black Hills Vendor Park offers vendors a prime location with high visibility from Interstate 90, the main road in and out of Sturgis. In order to reach the region’s largest Harley-Davidson store, visitors must pass directly past Black Hills Vendor Park.
“Vendor spaces are already filling up quickly, and the rally is still a couple of months away,” Sartorius said. “It’s going to be an incredible year for the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, and vendors have great opportunities to access the increased traffic.”
Available vendor spaces include easy paved access and 24-hour security, and 110/220 power, phone lines and Internet access are all available. No vending permit is required.
The 2010 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is set for August 9-15, with concerts, contests, celebrity appearances, and thousands of custom motorcycles. For more information on Black Hills Vendor Park or to reserve a vendor space, visit www.sturgisvendorpark.com or call 605-342-8302.
